Not all of them do. 100 years ago this wouldn't even be an issue because at that time we had what were called old-aged homes or pensioner's homes. They were operated by cities, or counties, or States and sometimes jointly by the States/counties. WebDec 25, 2024 · Taking care of my Dad has been a full-time job and I don't want them to look back and resent me for not dedicating that time to them. He might as well be kinless at this point because I imagine putting him in some sort of home is inevitable in the next few weeks. Anyway that's my perspective. Feels a little better to vent it out.
