WebJan 6, 2015 · It's possible to get the head milled [if warped] and get a shim of copper [.020",I think] and go back with a gasket and see what happens. Check the block for cracks around the water jackets. On my Toyota truck,the head was milled such that the compression was 189 PSI,and blew the gasket,so a shim fixed it. Get a new stud, clean the hole out with brake cleaner & put some Permatex High Temperature thread sealant on the block side of the stud. WebJan 3, 2024 · The best way is to take a nut, set it on top of the broken stud and weld it to the stud through the hole. That allows you to put a wrench on the nut and it heats up the broken stud in its hole causing it to loosen. A wire feed welder is best for that.
